| 1. What product should I select for my microwave transmission line application? |
| |
The answer to this question depends on many variables specific to you. Micro-Coax offers many options and one of the broadest ranges of solutions in the indusrtry. In some cases where low frequency range might initially direct you towards a low performing "RG" cable, you may find that another requirement such as RF shielding or phase matching might make one of our products an ideal choice. We make:

-Tin-braided and Aluminum jacketed handformable cables
-and many other types.

| 2. Can I buy UTiFLEX cable in bulk without connectors? |
| |
Generally, no. UTiFLEX is optimized to perform as a connectorized cable assembly with Micro-Coax supplied connectors. Though other third party connectors assembled in the field may physically fit the cables, the overall assembly performance may be reduced. Thus we highly recommend that you purchase complete UTiFLEX assemblies from Micro-Coax. As a bulk cable alternate, you may want to consider our M-FLEX cable as described in this website. |

| 3. Can I buy semi-rigid cable assemblies from Micro-Coax? |
| |
Yes. Micro-Coax has one of the most sophisticated semi-rigid assembly facilities in the world. Generally, we focus on assemblies with difficult to achieve configuration and/or specifications where overall performance is more important than low price. |

| 4. Do you offer various jacket colors? |
| |
Yes. Many different jacket types and colors are available for both semi-rigid and flexible cables. Our standard colors are Teal for FEP jackets, Aqua for PE jackets and Black for Tefzel jackets. We recommend that you first endeavor to use one of these colors, unless you have a very specific or large requirement. Small batches of special jacket materials or colors may carry a price premium. |

| 5. Can I buy connectors or adapters from Micro-Coax? |
| |
Yes. However, as a general rule we do not currently sell connectors or adapters on the open market. Our connector products are tailored to specific program applications where a high performance solution is required. |

| 6. What is the maximum length for Micro-Coax semi-rigid cable? |
| |
Maximum length varies depending upon the cable type. Most customers tend to purchase semi-rigid cable in 5 ft. straight lengths to take advantages of packaging and shipping costs. However, most of our cables with diameters of 0.085 inches or higher are available in lengths of 100 ft. or more. Generally, for lengths exceeding 150 ft, splices may be required. Please contact the factory directly for specific information about the cable you are considering. |

| 7. What Qualification Testing has Micro-Coax completed on UTiFLEX cables? |

All standard UTiFLEX cables have undergone a complete qualification program to insure that our published specifications are valid. The complete Micro-Coax Specifications are available on this site. To access them just select "UTiFLEX Specification Drawings" from the TECHNICAL INFORMATION TAB.
Additionally, we have performed many extremely rigorous qualifications to meet individual customer requirements. Please contact us directly to review your individual requirements. |

| 9. What is the maximum length for your MIL-DTL-17 semi-rigid cable? |
| |
20 feet. Most standard Micro-Coax semi-rigid cables are built in 20 ft. lengths to optimize performance characteristics. |
