| 1. What are the Dielectric Constants of your various dielectric materials? |
| |
Almost all of the Micro-Coax dielectrics are variations on PTFE. We change the dielectric constant by effectively adding more air into the dielectric either by removing part of the dielectric as in a spline dielectric cable or by introducing more air into the PTFE material itself. Though proportions vary slightly for specific cable types, the following general dielectric constant values apply:
Solid PTFE: 2.03
LL PTFE: 1.7
ULL PTFE: 1.5
Spline PTFE: 1.4 |

| 2. Does Micro-Coax Plate Stainless Steel Conductors? |
| |
Generally, no. The art of applying a plated coating to stainless steel is very complex and expensive, so both our stainless steel outer and center conductors are typically supplied unplated. |

| 3. I have seen the designators RG402 and RG405 refer to hand-formable cables. Is this correct? |
| |
Technically, no. The RG402 and RG405 designators are taken from MIL-C-17 and reference specifically qualified copper jacketed semi-rigid cable. Unfortunately, it has become accepted practice in the industry to refer to a few hand-formable cables as RG402 and RG405. This can confuse the systemn designer and we recommend that you do not use these designators for hand-formable cables. Handformable "RG402" and "RG405" will not meet the MIL-C-17 requirements for RG402 and RG405. |
